CAN YOU HEAR ME!?

Rhunyc responds:

Thank you for the notion, but I don't think it's gonna happen. :)

I can hear you though!

I like what you were going for but there's too much light flooding the room. I'd like to see the character without having to lean in.

Kel-chan responds:

its a frame of an animation sequence. So in the animation the character walks from the shadows into the light

The cat looked like a girl to me, it needs to be more gay if it's going to work.

P-cate responds:

"Make it gayer" is on my to do list already. Thank you sir for the comment :^).

Clever use of the border with the way you make certain elements overlap it.

Ccrawler responds:

Thanks! Added that detail just before sending the final image, and I think it really worked!

Well this drawing is pretty awesome, but I would change a few things. The dark areas would be darker, since there's a spotlight it could have been way more dramatic. The girl's right arm doesn't look as limp as the rest of her body, but that's a tricky part either way. Last thing is I wouldn't make them both faceless, without a face in the drawing it's harder to guess what's going on by myself. Maybe after he rescues her he opens his helmet to look at her with his own eyes, or maybe when ripping her from their machines he also removes her mask in the process. There are ways to make it work.

zephyo responds:

thank you. Yeah I thought about the dark thing, it definitely could be more focused. And the face yeah that would make it relatable. Woops! Will think about that next time I do something similar.

Great work on your part. I've just always struggled to reconcile the use of a brush preset. If someone made a brush that created realistic looking hair in one stroke, would you use it? At what point do you say "you know what? This shortcut is making things too easy and is actually hurting me instead of helping."

Demp responds:

Yes, I may use it at some extent, but just because I know how hair works, not a master on it but I can kinda make it look decent. In my opinion using a "magic" brush that can recreate hair (or whatever) in a single stroke without having the knowledge of how hair works it will still look bad and will hurt your painting. So I never had that thought, I'm just using special brushes to speed up a process that I already know. Hope this answers it :)

Hey, you don't have to like the content to appreciate the art. That's just the fanboy mindset.

YakovlevArt responds:

That's right. if it's good it's good. Thanks!

I like the pixel look and the idea, but some proportions are off and it's not super clean.

gatekid3 responds:

i can definitly understand why it doesnt look clean. but care to explain the problem with proportions? i dont understand what you mean skullgirls never exactly used proper proportions to begin with

The linework and colors are really nice, but the values aren't great. I think with a single layer of shading it's best to go for broke and make the shadows dark and bold, otherwise it ends up looking incomplete like this.

zerochan923600 responds:

Oh ok, so maybe darken the shadows? Or maybe I should have used a color other then black. Hm...

Great detail and expressions! But I'd rather not see all those plugs in the corner.

Zeamay responds:

Thank you Luckylime :)

If you're a fan of your own work, then you'll be fine ~ Start small. If you can't, then start smaller ~ If you don't love what you put out, don't expect anyone else to
