This would've been a five stars from me if it stopped about halfway down. I'm sure the bottom has some deeper meaning but I'm not privy to that. The sight of that man falling in the emptiness just hit me like a train though, I don't say this often but this is some good art.

Acrylla responds:

I agree, the bottom did feel a bit off... Thanks for the response :)

Tones need more definition, I can't tell what's going on. But then, it's a stress reliever so it's okay. Hang in there!

cheapcookie responds:

Yeah true! i noticed the same thing today when i saw my drawing again...
i need to work more on the tones .. Thanks for your helpful comment !

Good colors and shading, but the form could use more work. It's a step above your other work for sure.

MrMuumbutoo responds:

thank you for the nice advice :)

Great work! I love the expressions. I'm also excited for that game. I hope it's not just one big visual hook and the gameplay will be decent.

ScepterDPinoy responds:

It would be nice if they added platform elements with enemies to fight but they favor boss battles for this game.

Reminds me of the creatures in Lone Survivor. It almost looks metallic, nice job.

Ccrawler responds:

Another game I must play...thanks!

Wow, every pixel is oozing with detail. That sometimes isn't good because I don't know where to look but most of the decoration is desaturated. Only a few things like the blue chair and the tennis ball are still too colorful. The bottom edges could also benefit from being a little darker too, since it's mostly just litter. I can see the time and effort this took though, a frontpage well-deserved.

SmokeryDots responds:

Thank you Sir, and you are/might be right, but in the end of this drawing it was kinda hard to see the forest through the trees :)

Your work is always inspiring. The way you draw, leaving some of the strokes visible, makes me think I can do it too! :D

P-cate responds:

OF COURSE YOU CAN!, you can do everything if you are perseverant

I wouldn't stress about titles too much. I laughed at the "heavenly" tag. You could just call it Heavenly. Not much to say about it, keep doing what you're doing. But why has it been rigorous if you don't mind me asking?

zigan responds:

Thanks for the input. I may change the tag, it was in the late hours when I uploaded this and it may have been the "bloomy" aspect of the picture that made me think of something "heavenly" :P To answer your question though, I've just been having trouble finding the right times to get in the creative mood and draw/paint. It's really just been stress and handling time optimally. When I do decide to sit down and draw, it can also be hard to decide if I want to make a finished product or practice sketching. Often times I sketch for a little bit and then pick one of the subjects and sometimes put too much time into it when it ends up going nowhere but with the other piles of unfinished work. Its trouble finding a happy medium of drawing for fun and then drawing with discipline.

Colors and composition are good but I don't like that I can't read any of it, besides the character and the orb the rest just looks like a mess. Also I see the depth, but only so far as the middle ground. It doesn't feel like there's a foreground which bothers me.

ErrorCell responds:

Well you're pretty spot on with what I struggled with on this round. This scene was actually first created and rendered in 3D. I later painted right on top of it, added several layers of glow and glare... which is probably making this really awkward confusion between foreground background stuff. If I had another 3~4 hours of my life to remake this, that's basically what I'd work on.

Thanks for the commentary!

Gorgeous line art, I'm a huge fan of that black and white clean line style. The big black area on the bottom doesn't feel consistent with the rest of it though. Either make it all plain next time or add more black areas for balance.

TheIYouMe responds:

Yeah, I worried about it feeling inconsistent, when I was making it too. I wanted to try and make it as comic book-y as possible, which I'm still very much a novice at. But thanks for the feedback and the kind words!

If you're a fan of your own work, then you'll be fine ~ Start small. If you can't, then start smaller ~ If you don't love what you put out, don't expect anyone else to
