I wonder how much time it would take to animate this with a little breeze. Good god, looking at this gives me a happy feeling I can't describe. To you it might be nothing special but it's somehow therapeutic for me.

I'm so glad you like it. n,n
I love this, you lost half a star because of the roughness in some places, but I could see this being in an art museum. It's funny because this is the first time you uploaded something where the pattern filled the whole canvas and it got frontpaged. Maybe someone's trying to tell you something.
I think the discoloration was a happy accident, it breaks things up and gives you something to consider. I would love a 1920x1080 wallpaper similar to this.
Yeah, I know what you mean, there's places where life got kind of fucked up and I beat the shit out of the paper. Top right in particular was a fight with my dad. It was also really difficult to get enough lighting, I started in November when it still felt like summer basically, clear skies for weeks at a time, then sudden bleh. This is a mandala, basically, done a section at a time each day the sky was clear.
I've wanted to fill things out like this for a while, but it's taken this long to work on my sense for value for it to make sense. Working on figure drawing next, just trying to diversify the textures and living forms I can achieve - I want these to breathe when you look at them :3 And yeah, the only worry is that the discoloration is from the paper itself and not my clumsiness. The latter I can work with, but it'd suck never being able to use a tortillon for this.
Thank you for the comments. I'll try to get some wider stock, or maybe trim down a page to work as a wallpaper - it's been in my head too.
This looks just as good as the promotional art I see in the Steam store. Loving it.
April is still my favorite after all this time, I think it's just so mesmerizing and feels complete.
About your style, if you found one you like and are sure it's what you want to be doing then that's great, but I generally encourage people to not limit themselves and try out different things. There are a lot of artists here who only do one thing and that's it, and who knows if they would be successful with another style because they never try. To me, Newgrounds isn't the end-all be-all of art, so it's not where I'm expecting to create my brand which takes some of the pressure off. But this is a mouthful.
I'm happy you got started making money from your art, can't wait to see what you bring in 2016. Also just a note, I wouldn't include this in the art portal since it's not original work necessarily.
Cool idea, would love to see more of these. I would suggest you try to not mix styles. For example you did the whole character in a cel shaded style but added those rough looking action lines on top. Everything needs to feel the same for the picture to work. Keep it up.
thanks for the review Luckytime!
will try to do so on the next work :D
I tried to scan it with my phone, now I need a new phone.
Great job, the fact that it doesn't repeat makes it very nice.
It's a QR code from hell. Thanks, glad you like it.
Values are 10/10. I don't really care for the mess in the background but I get that it's a design element and it would be really boring without it. But what do I know, maybe I should be taking tips from you. Also I would've loved if she had another arm, if she's an amputee it's not really apparent.
I like it, real animation and whatnot. But the hand looks like it's slapping the cola bottle instead of grabbing it, which is confusing.
This may not be relevant to the art as much as it is to art culture, but I'm disappointed by how the men all have different body types and proportions while the women only share one. The qualities of a character tell you about their personality. Giving someone orange hair and big feet for example makes them solely unique in that way, and allows you to attribute those qualities with their character as you become more familiar with them. So when someone makes all their women have one body type it shows a subconscious belief that a woman's looks take priority over her uniqueness as an individual. I'm not mentioning this because I have a problem with it, it's just the first thing that caught my attention.
As for the drawing, my biggest issue is that many of the lines are drawn with an awkward inflection. It reminds me of clip art which is probably a bad thing. A general rule for laying out characters in an environment is that you want them to stand out over the background. In this case you made almost all the background lines heavier than the character lines, which is the opposite of what you want to do.
I understand what you're saying, but I was only sticking to the original styles of the comics which I have no control over style. As for how the women seem 'generalized' by looking 'attractive', I was only doing what the commissioner asked, which was to make her and her sister 'more flattering' and redirected me to the women of the Asterix comics for me to take note on how a certain female character was drawn.
If you're a fan of your own work, then you'll be fine ~ Start small. If you can't, then start smaller ~ If you don't love what you put out, don't expect anyone else to
