Haha, nice La Roux reference. Interesting colors and good pose. For a quick sketch it's not bad. I might just tweak him stylistically and add more darks. Thats's all. Good work. :)

Don't get me wrong, you have an interesting art style, good color schemes, and great attention to detail... but I find your scenes really hard to look at because there's very little tonal balance and everything indiscriminately saturated. The focal points just get lost in the visual mess. Things far in the background don't need to-- or rather they shouldn't have that much detail. More finesse is needed here but a solid piece regardless.

This is nostalgic for me, I used to have a 'how to draw bugs' book with step by step pictures and I think your bugs are actually better. I just don't know why you half-colored them.

MojoRising responds:

Thanks! most have just spot colour to illuminate particular markings, the rest uncoloured to maintain the technicality and finesse of the pointillism.

What a stunner, I liked that game. And I see you turned him into a robot. Is it because the voice said he needs to shed his humanity? Or you just felt like it? Anyway I'm sure we'll see this picture on their website soon enough. It's too good.

Carrion responds:

I just always imagined the protagonist to be some sort of android because of the lil antenna on his head. Thank you!

This is good enough to be in a picture book. Just some food for thought.

I fucking love your animals! You got a new fan.

Artbook? Did someone say artbook?! That would make a nice gift for someone I know.

I like it! His expression makes me laugh. The biggest problem is the small range of colors and tones. Keep it up!

This is just me, but I think the art portal should be used for more rendered works. I think if you worked on this longer you could definitely make it better, at least remove some of those stray lines that don't add anything to it.

GamerTheory responds:

I'm inclined to agree wtih you. I wanted to go for a sketchy, yet painterly style, but I've realized in the past few hours that there are much better ways to do that than by leaving a bunch of very clearly un-painted lines.

Thanks.

Wow, beautiful colors. I don't know if I would have kept those (raindrops?) or drawn the fire the same way, but they get the idea across at least.

If you're a fan of your own work, then you'll be fine ~ Start small. If you can't, then start smaller ~ If you don't love what you put out, don't expect anyone else to
