Yeah, love working on these kinds of forms!
I personally don't care for all those "____ days" we have, they use the assumption that you can inspire yourself whenever you want. Anyway the idea is fantastic but the hands look a little wonky.
Thanks for the feed back. I'll try to improve on the hands next time.
Where in the name of god do you come up with your ideas? Seriously creative.
I just don't like how there's a cast shadow from the guy and girl that makes them look like they're in front of a set or green-screen.
thanks; thanks for pointing that out btw. My landscapes need work
It's been a while since you posted something colored. I like that it's a realistic interpretation of a cartoon character that makes sense.
Hope you're doing alright.
Hi Luckytime, I'm doin fine, thanks! My digital works have certainly been almost non-existant as of late. In my spare time i've tried getting into more traditional/acrylic painting, but i'm really not that good considering it's kind of a whole 'nother ball game lol. Although i haven't had many requests either, so my motivational mindframe with art is a bit rubbish, plus my full time job i think saps a lot of my creativity D:
I know what you mean about things being painful to complete, lately I've just wanted to stop being creative for a while and do something else. It gets boring doing the same thing for years. Anyway the anxiety shows in this one with the simplified shapes, your work usually looks a lot better. Give it time.
It's just I've been with so much anxiety is difficult to focus on things and try to complete it without thinking it looks awful, just to end with a insatisfaction feeling. Although I'm kinda porud that i actually finished this. It makes me happy.
I understand your point. Sometimes is boring for me to make simple drawings. What i really want to do is tell a story. So I've been working in making comics to see if i like that better.
There's a quality to your drawings that always makes them look very messy, that's really my only criticism though. Everything else about this one rocks. Each element is clearly defined, balanced and adds to the picture in its own way. Every color serves a purpose. If only it wasn't so messy.
thanks! ill keep it mind next time
Wow, interesting composition, crazy good colors, and fine attention to detail. I found myself looking at it for longer than I usually do when I'm browsing art. That deserves an award right there.
Just wish the eyes on the left model were proportioned correctly.
i didn't notice until i had flipped her to do the right side shading, i wondered if people would notice. i took a gamble and i lost :X
You seem to have a lot of fun drawing faces (the face is the only thing detailed) but I wish the rest of the picture was clear.
yeah :/ I got carried away
I love the cyan accents, they really go well with orange. While this obviously took a long time, I can't help but notice small inconsistencies throughout the whole picture (such as the tubes in her helmet being skewed). I feel the abdomen could be improved, it looks like you took a lot of liberties when you redesigned the armor but in the case of this area I think simpler would have been better. It's missing that sleek quality we're all used to. Anyway 5 stars because this is dope.
Cheers for the review. Yeah the abdomen area I went with the defined ab muscle look. But simpler could've worked also :)
I typically dont do much fanart because people do have certain ideas in mind when it comes to existing characters but I always like to explore new designs instead of having the same one get stale. But still I agree that it is a fine line between designs that people know vs. how far you can push new design :)
If you're a fan of your own work, then you'll be fine ~ Start small. If you can't, then start smaller ~ If you don't love what you put out, don't expect anyone else to
